For over 75 years the DUROMATIC® has proven itself in kitchens all over the world. Now here it is – the fifth generation of our pressure cooker, originally introduced in 1949 – the classic when pressure cooking is the name of the game. Our design team in Rikon has done all it can to make our latest DUROMATIC® even more practical and more beautiful without fundamentally changing what is tried and tested. Thanks to the new hood on which you can read the most important cooking times, you will have everything under control. The design is now more modern, and the grips and handles sit even better in the hand. Furthermore, cooking in the DUROMATIC® Classic Neo is as before faster, retaining valuable vitamins and nutrients, as well as energy-saving into the bargain.

FAST, HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE

Cooking in the DUROMATIC® is up to 70% faster in comparison with ordinary cookware, thereby exposing vitamins and nutrients to high temperatures for a significantly shorter duration. This way ingredients important for healthy eating are retained. The sieve insert in the bottom of the DUROMATIC® also helps to keep the foodstuffs out of the water, which intensifies this effect.

When cooking in the pressure cooker, for example, retains almost 1.5 times as much vitamin C* as cooking in normal cookware. In addition, rapid cooking in the pressure cooker has an energy-saving of up to 69 %.

COOK SO MUCH FASTER

By pressure-cooking in the DUROMATIC® foodstuffs are cooked through much faster than when cooking in ordinary cookware. If, for example, you usually have to cook carrots for 15 minutes, the DUROMATIC® only takes 4 minutes. On average you cook up to 70% quicker this way. That’s how easy pressure-cooking is.


 

COOK IN A SO MUCH MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY WAY

By pressure-cooking in the DUROMATIC®, energy-consumption is much lower than when cooking in ordinary cookware. In comparison with cooking in ordinary cookware with a lid, the DUROMATIC® consumes 69 % less energy. If one compares it with cooking in ordinary cookware without a lid, then the DUROMATIC® even uses 279 % less energy. That’s how easy it is to spare the environment with a DUROMATIC®.


 

SO MUCH MORE VITAMIN C AND MINERALS RETAINED

The SQTS (Swiss Quality Testing Services) have investigated this with 100 g of mixed carrots. And Stiftung Warentest has measured the retention of minerals in green beans.  Some of the valuable ingredients so important for our health were exposed to a high temperature for less time, they did not have time to break down. That’s how easy it is to eat healthier with a DUROMATIC®.


 

EVEN HEALTHIER & GENTLER

Thanks to a steamer insert, the steam can circulate perfectly and you can cook even healthier and more gently.

MAXIMUM SAFETY

The triple excess pressure release mechanism ensures safety at all times.

1. SAFETY PIN
The safety pin prevents pressure from building up when the lid is not fully closed.

2. SAFETY LOCK
The bayonet lock ensures that the lid can neither be turned nor opened when under pressure.

3. MAIN VALVE
The main valve ensures that steam is automatically released when excess pressure reaches 1.2 bar.

4. SAFETY VALVE
The safety valve under the valve cover is an additional excess pressure valve and automatically expels steam once an excess pressure of 1.8 bar has built up.

5. SAFETY WINDOW
The safety window serves as the final release mechanism. The rubber seal is pushed out of the safety window at an excess pressure of 3.4 bar. This way steam can escape safely and effectively.

THE MAIN VALVE IS A MULTIVALVE WITH DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS

3. First red ring appears: 1. Cooking setting reached (approx. 109 °C)

4. Second red ring appears: 2. Cooking setting reached (approx. 117 °C)

5. Negative pressure continuing to increase (quiet hissing)

6. Steam escapes via valve: strong signal tone audible (loud hissing)


MANUFACTURED IN SWITZERLAND

We have been producing all DUROMATIC® pressure cookers at our Swiss site in Rikon since 1949. In so doing, we place the highest demands on the materials selected, the precision of the production process and the continual checking of the quality standard achieved. This is why our DUROMATIC®s are particularly durable and give long-lasting pleasure.

Should something on the product have to be replaced for once, that is also not a problem. The matching spare parts are quite simply available. Furthermore, for at least 15 years after one of our products is no longer being sold, we still keep the corresponding spare parts in stock. Beyond that, our repair service also always finds a good solution.


THE MORE DURABLE, THE MORE SUSTAINABLE

If something does need to be replaced on the product, that's no problem either, because we give a ten-year guarantee (receipt) on the material and workmanship of cookware and two years on wear and spare parts. Suitable spare parts are easily available in our webshop. In addition, we keep the corresponding spare parts available for at least 15 years after one of our products is no longer sold. In addition, you can have your pot repaired at our repair centre in Rikon instead of replacing it, because the longer a product is used, the more sustainable it is.


PLEASANT TO HANDLE

The ergonomic grips and handles sit well in the hand, whether the DUROMATIC® is open or closed, and remain pleasantly cool. The Superthermic sandwich base distributes the heat evenly and stores it optimally. The DUROMATIC® is suitable for all types of cooker, including induction.

Anyone who would rather keep their own delicious recipes in their heads rather than cooking times, will find the most important cooking times for various side dishes and mains printed on the valve cover of the DUROMATIC® Classic Neo. The cooking times for all other meals and dishes you can prepare with the pressure cooker, can be found in the enclosed cooking times table, in the instructions for use or in the Kuhn Rikon app. For all eventualities, whether sophisticated hors d’oeuvres, delicious main courses or popular desserts.
