INTERVIEW AVEC PASCAL GULL,
HEAD OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

ALUMINUM IS NOW ALSO PROCESSED IN RIKON

WHO OR WHAT GAVE YOU THE IDEA OF DEVELOPING A NEW FRYING PAN?
We started the project about three years ago as we wanted to produce aluminium frying pans in Switzerland again.

WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE IN ITS DEVELOPMENT?
One challenge was that our production is set up for the processing of stainless steel. We therefore had to make adjustments so that we could also process aluminium. Another challenge was building up our know-how in the soldering of aluminium.

WERE THERE MOMENTS WHERE YOU WOULD HAVE RATHER DROPPED THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS LINE? HOW DID YOU DEAL WITH SUCH SETBACKS?
Our project team still went on searching for solutions. And so, it was never an option to drop the project. But, of course, there were moments in which we needed more time to find the right solution. From the idea through to implementation took around three years – there were some problems we had to solve.

WHAT MAKES YOU PARTICULARLY PROUD?
I am proud that, after approximately 35 years, we have managed to produce aluminium frying pans in Switzerland once more. And also that, by using 100% European recycled aluminium, we are now producing a sustainable and very high quality frying pan, which is even reasonably priced.
